Left unloved for many years, You & Your Wedding wanted to improve its site experience based on the needs of today’s brides.
Before jumping into the site’s redesign, it was important to define its information architecture. In collaboration with the editorial team, I made a content inventory of the site and defined the site’s future content strategy. I then conducted a remote card sorting to understand how brides expect to find content organised. The findings from the study were used to inform the information architecture. I also scoured the company for existing insights on our users; these were used to create personas. Following a mobile first approach, I created responsive design concepts for different areas of the site. Concepts were visualised quickly, and cleanly through sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to support visual design and technical implementation. Usability testing was conducted to evaluate the designs. Feedback was also collected from design colleagues, product stakeholders, and the agile team.
User experience project lead, service concept design, interaction design, and creation of documentation.
Feedback on the designs was extremely positive. It was also registered an increase in engagement and reduction of bounce rate following the launch of the new version of site.
